Jon Reynolds

Jon Reynolds opened his business, Marine Masters, on North Padre Island in 2001 to exceed the repair & maintenance needs of the boating community. Mr. Reynolds has more than 30 years in the marine industry, beginning his career at Ingram Industries and continuing his training/certification at Marine Dynamics, and Island Marine. Jon was first elected to the Island Foundation board in 2014 to serve as the Vice President of Vision & Planning. He has continued to serve on the Board as Seashore Charter Schools Liaison, and Board President. Jon diligently believes in serving his community and providing positive leadership for our youth. Mr. Reynolds volunteered for 2 years on the Padre Island Business Association’s Board and is Assistant Troop Master for Boy Scouts of America Troop 949. He is also an NRA, BSA, and 4H certified shotgun shooting sports coach for Nueces County 4H Trap & Skeet Club. Jon and his family reside on North Padre Island where they enjoy spending time boating, SCUBA diving, and riding motorcycles.

David Jackson

David Jackson is a 44 year resident of Padre Island. He graduated from Texas A&M University in Kingsville with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. David is the owner of Data Resource, a computer company that has served the Coastal Bend for 41 years. He serves our community as a Nueces County Fire Commissioner, a deacon for many years at Padre Island Baptist Church, and he has served as a volunteer diver at The Texas State Aquarium. David and his wife, Karen, have seven children, five of which have had the great opportunity to attend Seashore. He is an active volunteer at school and he was a member of Dads on Campus. His other interests include running marathons, cycling, swimming, scuba diving, hiking, and camping. David was voted onto the school board on April 18, 2022.

Ben Smith
Email

Ben Smith was voted to serve on the Board in March 2021. Ben earned his Bachelors in Environmental Geology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. He served in church ministries in Florida and Georgia for 18 years before opening his own insurance agency in 2013, Treybig Insurance. Ben and his wife Jenn and their three sons moved to North Padre Island in 2018 and relocated his business here. Two sons attended Seashore Middle Academy.

Jaclyn Mahlmann

Jaclyn Mahlmann was voted to serve on the Board in April 2021. Jaclyn earned a Bachelors in Finance from Texas A&M University at College Station and a Master of Business Administration from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. She has worked in Higher Education administration for over 20 years and is currently Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Jaclyn and her husband, Michael, have one son who attended both Seashore Early Childhood Academy’s after school program and Seashore Learning Center, and is now at Seashore Middle Academy.

Shy Alewine

Shy Alewine was admitted on the Board in July 2023. Shy earned her bachelors degree at Tarleton State University and her masters degree in educational administration at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. She was an educator for 12 years serving as a teacher, college and career advisor, and assistant principal during those years. She currently works with Seascape Properties as Director of Operations. Shy and her husband Chance have one son who attends Seashore Learning Center.

Liaison

Sarah Greaud

Sarah Greaud has been a part of the Seashore Family for over five years, serving on both Seashore Parent Association and the Island Foundation Board as a director and now the Liason. She lives on the island with her husband, two kids and her dog. She is a local realtor at Coastline Properties and owns a portrait photography studio here on the island. She participates in many local groups and clubs and enjoys volunteering at Seashore and around the island community.

Michael York
Email

Michael York was voted to serve on the Board in February 2022. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Michael is a native of Corpus Christi and is committed to serving our community. He has two sons and one daughter. One child attends SLC, and one child is at SECA.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are generally held at 6 p.m. in room 106 on the campus of Seashore Middle Academy at 15437 S.P.I.D.

Denise Hawkins
Email

Denise Hawkins started her career as a school teacher in both public and private schools. Before joining The Island Foundation, she spent many years working in a legislative research firm as a corporate trainer. Denise has volunteered her entire adult life inside school districts in various capacities, mostly fundraising and event planning. Denise’s daughter is an alumni of Seashore Charter Schools. Denise is passionate about engaging business and community leaders and sharing the impact our Charter School is making on the students and families we serve
