Seashore Charter School
Military Families
Seashore Charter Schools is a strong supporter of our nation’s military and their families. We realize that when entire families move from station to station or when a family member is transferred or deployed and has to leave their family behind, there is a lot of extra support needed. The information on our website will help you find valuable information to assist you.
Seashore Charter Schools welcomes military families who have been transferred to a local military installation. Any parent or guardian who is an active-duty member of the armed forces of the United States, or are part of the reserve armed forces, may establish residence in our attendance zone and enroll children at Seashore Charter Schools.

Seashore Charter Schools has a Lottery on April 1st for any openings in the upcoming school year. If you have an order to transfer to our area and want to be included in the Lottery, please complete the Application for Admission before April 1st.
Special Considerations:
- Proof of Residence: is not required at this time but must be provided by the first day of school. If you are in transition and do not have a permanent address yet, please contact us so that we can work with you.
- Educational Records: will be requested from previous schools at the end of the current school year or upon enrollment. Seashore Learning Center adheres to the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children (Military Interstate Compact) so that information contained in unofficial or “hand-carried” educational records furnished by the sending state will be honored pending validation of the official records.
- Immunizations: Students with incomplete immunization records will be given thirty (30) days from the date of enrollment to obtain any incomplete immunizations.
-
Kindergarten and First Grade Entrance Age: Students are allowed to continue their enrollment at grade level from a Local Education Agency (LEA) at the time of transition, regardless of age. Students who have satisfactorily completed the prerequisite grade level in the LEA from the previous state are eligible for enrollment at the next grade level, regardless of age. A student transferring during the school year will be enrolled at their current grade level from an accredited school.
For more information SEE ENROLLMENT PROCESS.
Welcome to Seashore Charter School’s “Student Ambassador” program. This program
was designed to support our military students in their transition into their new school. It
is important to us that all of our students feel part of our Seashore family.
Our ambassador program is meant to allow new students the opportunity to meet new
friends, be introduced to their teachers and staff members, be shown around their new
home, and learn about all the opportunities that they have as a student at Seashore.
When we get a new student at our school, our ambassadors are made aware and are
asked to greet the new student and follow a checklist of items to acclimate our new
Crew member. The ambassadors also make plans with the new student to have lunch
with them so they feel welcome.
Requirements for student ambassadors:
National Honor Society member (SMA only)
Overall GPA of 90% or better (SMA only)
Demonstrates good character
Represents respect
Represents integrity
Represents excellence
New Crew members to Seashore are in good hands with our student ambassadors.
Right from the start, they have a friend that they can trust and depend on.
If you would like more information about this program because you have a new student
or you would like your student to be part of it, please contact our Military Liaison, Susie
Tennison, at [email protected].
Our campus-based School Liaison is here to help you during your transition or while you are enrolled at Seashore Charter Schools. We can help provide you with resources and services available to support all military-connected students.
