Seashore Charter Elementary School celebrates Earth Day at the beach

The students went on an Earth Day adventure to learn more about taking care of the planet we all share.

On Monday, many across the globe celebrated our planet with a day at the beach!

In honor of Earth Day, Seashore Learning Center took the students on an adventure to learn more about taking care of the space we all share, particularly by picking up trash found at the beach.

While the kids had a blast at the beach they also learned some valuable lessons, like student Trinity Magers.

“It’s good to pick up trash because it helps the community and the wildlife,” Magers said. “Everyone’s happier if there is a cleaner beach and more wildlife will come.”

“I’m learning don’t ever throw trash on the beach, throw it in the trashcan or just take it home,” student Jemma Mahaffey said. “Just throw it in the trash can and don’t just throw it on the ground cause it could hurt sea turtles in the sea.”

Another student, Niko McDonnell, said the day has taught him to take better care of the earth and environment.

After the field trip they all got the chance to take their bags and clean up around their school
